Oakes Gulf and Boott Spur
[ info ]
This is a view from a rather different perspective, over the valley of the Dry River. Oakes Gulf is favored by more determined spring skiers – off the beaten path, compared to Tuckerman Ravine. Above the Gulf, the plateau of Bigelow Lawn connects the lip of the Gulf to the summit cone. Beyond the ridgeline of Boott Spur lie Tuckerman Ravine - deeply carved and hidden from view – and the Alpine Garden and the uppermost face of Huntington Ravine.
