Washburn Gallery – Oakes Gulf and Bigelow Lawn

A delicately balanced image, with the headwall of Oakes Gulf dominating the foreground. Even today, Oakes Gulf is not often visited, traversed only by one wilderness trail, and skied only by the hardy. Bigelow Lawn lies n mid-frame, joining Mount Monroe with Boott Spur (both just out of view), and the three prominences of Mount Jefferson, Mount Washington, and Nelson Crag top the view.
